For me, making pottery combines many of the things I most enjoy in life: nature, creating, beauty, food, flowers, and friends and family gathered... I am especially interested in creating pieces that exude a sense of their experience and the ways that earth, fire and my hands have shaped them. The longer I make pots, the more interested I am in creating pieces that are as far from being able to have been made by a machine as possible. Like people, the best are of great use and have beauty that reveals itself in different ways over time.
